AVON — Logan Mudder recorded a double-double to lead the Avon boys’ basketball team to a 34-27 victory over Marty Indian Monday.
Mudder scored 14 points and brought down 14 rebounds. Brandon Kocmich had 11 points for the Pirates, who shot 43 percent from the field and 25 percent from the free-throw line.
Clinton Neiss Jr. and Xiomar Zephier each scored nine points for the Braves, who shot 17 percent from the field and 57 percent from the line.
Avon (4-7) hosts Gregory Thursday, while Marty Indian (3-4) plays Takini Thursday in Huron.

BERESFORD —Chris Kropenske scored 14 points to lead Beresford over Marion 53-26 in a high school boys’ basketball game Monday.
Freeman was led by Jacob Weurtz, who scored 10 points and brought down 14 rebounds for a double-double. Nick Gortmaker had seven points and seven steals.
The Flyers, who lost the JV game, shot 19 percent from the field and 54 percent from the foul line.
Freeman (1-9) plays Irene-Wakonda today in Wakonda.

GREGORY — The Dakota Christian boys’ basketball team had three players score in double figures en route to a 50-42 overtime win over Gregory.
Darren Fallis scored 12 points and Carter Dykstra had 10. Jake Spoelstra had 10 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. The Cadets were 14-of-34 from the field and 20-of-34 from the foul line.
Gavin Thomas scored 13 points and seven rebounds, while Jaden Bartling recorded 10 points for the Gorillas, who were 14-of-37 from the field and 5-of-11 from the line.
The Cadets (4-6) play at Freeman Thursday, while Gregory (3-7) plays at Avon Thursday.

COLOME — The South Central boys’ basketball team defeated Colome 56-47 Monday.
South Central’s Dakota Votaw led all players with 20 points.
Terrance Kinzer and Cohl Ratermann scored 14 points apiece and Brady London had eight for Colome. Kinzer had nine rebounds.
South Central (11-1) hosts West Boyd, Neb. Thursday in Bonesteel, while Colome (5-7) plays Platte-Geddes Friday in Platte.
Mount Vernon/Plankinton 60, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 43
TRIPP — Jared Long scored 17 points in Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s 60-43 win over Tripp-Delmont/Armour Monday.
Deric Denning scored 11 points for the Titans, who were 25-of-46 from the field and 9-of-16 from the free-throw line.
Trevor Payer led the Nighthawks, who won the JV game 39-34, with 15 points. Austin Barlow scored 10 for T-D/A, which was 17-of-41 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line.
The Titans (6-5) host Wagner today in Mount Vernon, while the Nighthawks (5-7) play South Central Friday in Bonesteel.

CHAMBERLAIN — Chamberlain had four players in double-digit scoring figures to defeat Mount Vernon/Plankinton 68-56 Saturday.
The Cubs were led by Gage Basting with 15 points, Lane Shroyer scored 14, Davis Carson had 12 and Reuben Estes added 11 in the win. Dalton Andrea brought down a game-high nine rebounds. Chamberlain was 25-of-44 from the field and 12-of-15 from the foul line.
Kellam Karst and Deric Denning each scored 16 points for the Titans, who were 19-of-42 from the field and 13-of-17 from the free-throw line. Karst pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
The Cubs (10-2) play at Miller today.

Dana Kirby and Rachel Bartscher each scored 10 points. Natasha Krempges had 12 rebounds and Brianna Painter recorded six steals. The Fighting Cougars, who won the JV game, shot 43 percent from the field and 56 percent from the line.
Freeman’s Nicole Saarie scored 12 points and Dina Soulek had nine in the loss. The Flyers shot 29 percent from the field and 77 percent from the line.
MC/M (5-6) hosts Chester Area Thursday in Montrose, while Freeman plays Marty Indian Monday.
