CANISTOTA — The Mitchell Christian girls’ basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak after beating Canistota 53-31 Monday in Canistota.
CANISTOTA — The Mitchell Christian girls’ basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak after beating Canistota 53-31 Monday in Canistota.
“We needed to come out and get a win again,” MCS coach Jackie VanLaecken said. “Our girls played hard and aggressive and played unselfish basketball.”
Becca Glanzer led all players with 21 points in the game, while Alexa VanLaecken recorded a double-double with 10 assists and 11 steals.
The Eagles were 12-of-15 from the foul line and outrebounded the Hawks 33-27. VanLaecken, Khiree Held and Brittany Zoss each had six for MCS.
The Hawks were led by Kayla Marquardt with eight points and Natasha Letcher scored seven.
Chloe Nielsen had 12 points and nine steals in the loss.
MCS (8-3) plays at Ethan Thursday, while Canistota (4-10) plays Irene-Wakonda Monday in Irene.
