A two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon resulted in minor injuries for a Mitchell man.

Sgt. Scott Walton with the Mitchell Police Division said Donald McDougal, 47, was driving a 2005 Chevy Silverado east on Eighth Avenue, stopped at the intersection of the Highway 37 bypass, then failed to yield to traffic and was struck by a 1979 Chevy pickup driven by Christopher Drake, 31, also of Mitchell, who was traveling south on the bypass.

Walton said McDougal was transported by ambulance to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital with unknown but minor injuries. He estimated both vehicles to be a total loss. The sergeant also said citations are pending, but declined to specify for whom or on what counts.
