JVCC SPONSORS DANCE: Dance to the music of Loyd Oleson from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at James Valley Community Center, Mitchell. Admission is $4, which includes lunch. All ages are welcome.

On this date in 2011, the Mitchell School Board accepted a $1,000 award from the Associated School Boards of South Dakota as winners of the “School Board Award of Excellence” The Mitchell board was the first-ever winner of the award. The funds will be used for some type of scholarship.
