DWU baseball team to hold 3 winter camps

Three baseball camps will be hosted by Dakota Wesleyan University baseball program for area players.

A hitting and defense camp is scheduled for Jan. 27 and a pitching camp is set for Feb. 3.

These two camps, which run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., are open to baseball players in grades seven through 12.

An elementary camp is scheduled for Feb. 2, in which players in first through sixth grades can attend. The camp is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registration for each camp is one hour before the start of the camp.

Knights of Columbus hosting free-throw event

The Knights of Columbus free-throw competition is being held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the John Paul II gymnasium.

The event is open to boys and girls ages 10-14. Participants can register prior to the competition, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Local winners have the opportunity to compete in district and state competitions. Contact Doug Greenway at 996-4368 with questions.
