A Mitchell woman will remain on probation after being arrested twice for marijuana possession and once for shoplifting while on court supervision for a prior drug conviction.
Crystal Otterstrom, 25, admitted Dec. 4 to violating her probation and was sentenced Tuesday at the Davison County Public Safety Center. Judge Tim Bjorkman reimposed a sentence from last year when Otterstrom was convicted of distributing marijuana to a minor and extended her probation through May 1, 2014.
Otterstrom’s attorney Doug Papendick told Bjorkman that turmoil in Otterstrom’s personal life had led to the violations, all of which happened in less than a month.
Bjorkman also ordered Otterstrom to have a mental health evaluation and to attend budget counseling.
