A Sioux Falls woman convicted of passing more than $1,800 in bad checks at grocery stores in Mitchell and Huron denies violating her probation.
Carla Benton, 35, was sentenced Oct. 30 to 40 days in jail and two years on probation for grand theft for passing $1,837.44 in bad checks at Coborn’s in Mitchell and Huron. She pleaded guilty to the charge on Sept. 11.
Benton entered a written denial Tuesday in Mitchell. Her trial is scheduled for February.
