PIERRE — No legislation has yet been filed in the new session of the South Dakota Legislature to ban texting while driving, but there is a related bill.

The Senate State Affairs Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday on SB 44, which would disqualify a holder of a commercial driver license if caught texting in violation of a federal, state or local ban while operating a commercial vehicle.
