STICKNEY — Hope Menning made six 3-pointers in Corsica/Stickney’s 62-28 win over the Mitchell Christian girls’ basketball team Monday.
STICKNEY — Hope Menning made six 3-pointers in Corsica/Stickney’s 62-28 win over the Mitchell Christian girls’ basketball team Monday.
Menning led all players with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Micayla Bamberg recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Brianna Kuyper scored eight points. The Jaguars, who had 37 team rebounds, were 24-of-51 from the field and 3-of-6 from the line.
“(Corsica/Stickney) shot lights out,” Mitchell Christian coach Jackie VanLaecken said. “The girls didn’t play a bad game at all, but we had a few turnovers that hurt us early.”
Becca Glanzer scored a team-high 10 points and added five rebounds and four assists, Alexa VanLaecken had nine points and Emily Reynen added six points and five rebounds.
The Eagles, who had 16 team rebounds, were 4-of-8 from the free-throw line and committed 10 turnovers.
Corsica/Stickney won the JV game 25-11.
Corsica/Stickney (4-8) plays Ethan Friday, while Mitchell Christian (7-2) hosts Avon today.
