Mother of children killed in fire had meth, ecstacy in her system
34-year-old Rhiannon White was arrested Monday on two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The Minnehaha County sheriff says the mother of three children killed in a house fire had methamphetamine and ecstasy in her system the morning of the blaze.
The media reported that Sheriff Mike Milstead says 34-year-old Rhiannon White was arrested Monday on two counts of possession of a controlled substance. White was released on bond.
Attorney information for White was not immediately available.
Court paperwork says that a post-fire blood test showed drugs in her system. It says that White's sister told detectives that White had sent her a text message about visiting her drug dealer's house on the way home from a bar on the morning of the fire, Dec. 22.
Killed in the blaze were 16-year-old Michael Hensley, 12-year-old Savannah Coon and 6-year-old Alivia Coon.
