BROOKINGS — Dr. Joe Cassady has been selected as the new Animal Science department head at South Dakota State University, pending the approval of the South Dakota Board of Regents.
His appointment is effective June 22. Cassady previously served as executive director of the Beef Improvement Federation. Cassady received his Ph.D. in animal science in 1999 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also received his master’s in animal science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his bachelor’s in animal science from Iowa State University in 1993.
