LOWER BRULE — A Lower Brule man pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of abusive sexual contact.

Douglas LaRoche, 44, faces a maximum of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine after admitting to the charge, which stems from an incident when LaRoche knowingly engaged in sexual contact with someone who was incapable of appraising the nature of the conduct and was physically incapable of rejecting the sexual contact.

LaRoche was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending sentencing.

A sentencing date has been set for April.
