Huron man ID’d as victim in accident

FORESTBURG — Authorities say 70-year-old Ronald J. Glaser, of Huron, was the man killed in a two-vehicle crash shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 34 near Forestburg.
Glaser was westbound in a 1991 Ford Escort when he collided with the back of a westbound Ford farm tractor driven by Tracy Gene Burkel, 39, of Woonsocket, according to a Department of Public Safety news release.
Glaser was pronounced dead at the scene. Burkel was not injured in the crash.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. The Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office, Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office, Beadle County Sheriff’s Office, Woonsocket Ambulance and Sanborn County Coroner assisted.
