Things to remember

LOCAL DEMS SET MEETING DATE: The Davison County Democrats will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the LifeQuest building, Mitchell.

Quinten Burg, former state legislator from Jerauld County, will be the speaker and will lead a discussion about issues relating to the way in which the state creates legislative districts.

MAHRA TO MEET TUESDAY: The Mitchell Area Human Resource Association will meet at 11:45 A.M. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Community Room, Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.

There will be a webinar on I-9 Compliance and/or Basics.

Today in local history

On this date in 2008, the Police Division of the Mitchell Department of Public Safety announced that new officers who leave their position within three years of hiring could be required to repay up to $15,000 to help cover the expense of their training. The agreement was signed between the city and local police union.
