LETTER: We can be one with God through grace

To the Editor:
A lot of people have a very hard time trying to figure out how the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost can be one. If you look at the ingredients for water, for example, it’s called H20. H20 is two particles of hydrogen and one particle of oxygen which makes the one substance called water.
You can also look at marriage. It is written in the Book of Genesis Chapter 2, verse 24 — “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.”
What is even more difficult to understand is that we, as Disciples of Christ shall be one with the Lord. In the Book of John, chapter 17, verse 11 it says — “And now I am no more in this world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me that they may be one as we are!”
Now Jesus Christ said this and it isn’t the only verse in the Bible that talks about being one with the Father. Those that love Jesus Christ will be one with the Father. Isn’t that amazing and also wonderful?
If we all get together for the purpose of one, we can all help each other with love and joy and peace. Gratefully because of the grace Jesus Christ hast bestowed upon us: those that love Him will be one with the Father. How great He was, is and is about to be!
