Local nursing home’s owner changes name

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis-based Mission Healthcare, owner of Firesteel Healthcare Center, Mitchell, has changed its name to Welcov (well-cove) Healthcare.
The company says the new name signals its “ongoing commitment to better serve its communities with compassion, dignity and a welcoming, progressive approach.”
The Welcov Healthcare name is a combination of the words wellness and cove, which reflect the company’s goal of creating safe and welcoming environments that foster hope.
The name change coincides with a period of expansion for the company. In early December, Welcov added Lantis Enterprises. The agreement included 22 long-term care centers, 11 assisted living facilities and six home-health agencies in the Northern Rocky Mountain and North-Central Plains regions. Welcov now operates 54 facilities and home health agencies in Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming. The company is also constructing an assisted living facility in Sturgis.
