KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS GROUP PLANS PANCAKE BREAKFAST: A pancake breakfast will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Kimball.
Menu includes sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, coffee and juice. Ticket prices are: adults, $4; kids, $2; family, $12. The event is sponsored by Father O’Gorman Council of Knights of Columbus.
DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP SETS MEETING: Diabetes Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, in Conference Room 1, Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.
There will be a DVD presentation, “Partnering With Your Healthcare Professional.”

Today in local history
On this date in 2010, the Davison County Commission considered a request to set a date for an election to reestablish a defunct township. Mitchell Township was dissolved in 2002 when its debts overwhelmed its financial resources and the territory became the responsibility of the county, which established levies to pay for fire protection and road maintenance.
