One person dead after Sanborn County crash

FORESTBURG – One person died in a two-vehicle crash on S.D. Highway 34 just east of Forestburg on Wednesday.
A westbound 1991 Ford Escort collided with the rear of a Ford farm tractor towing a hay-stack mover and also traveling westbound. The driver of the Ford died in the crash. The driver of the tractor was not injured.
No further information is immediately available. Names of those involved are being withheld until relatives have been notified.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office, Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office, Beadle County Sheriff’s Office, Woonsocket Ambulance and Sanborn County Coroner assisted.
