Local legislator absent from Capitol

Rep. Lance Carson, R-Mitchell, is reportedly recovering from health difficulties and hasn’t yet made an appearance at the Capitol for the 2013 legislative session, which began Tuesday.

Rep. Lance Carson, R-Mitchell, is reportedly recovering from health difficulties and hasn’t yet made an appearance at the Capitol for the 2013 legislative session, which began Tuesday.

Calls to Carson’s home and cell phone were not immediately returned Wednesday.

In June, Carson, 67, was treated at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls for a blood infection. Donna Carson, his wife, said in a subsequent October interview that her husband’s health improved after treatment.
