FORT THOMPSON — A Fort Thompson woman was sentenced Monday to 33 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

Leigha Koster, 20, led law enforcement on a high-speed chase July 28 after she drove off during a traffic stop. Speeds exceeded 100 mph during the chase.

Koster lost control of the vehicle while trying to make a turn, causing it to roll and crash. Her boyfriend, who was in the passenger seat, was ejected and died at the scene.

Koster was under the influence of alcohol during the chase.

Koster was also ordered to pay $16,995.18 in restitution and $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund. She will spend two years on supervision following her release.
