Hanson girls’ basketball coach Jim Bridge and Parkston wrestling coach Jared Digmann will speak at the Quarterback Club Meeting at 7:30 tonight at The Depot.

Bridge will discuss the Hanson basketball classic while Digmann will talk about this Parkston wrestling squad.

The club regularly has Mitchell High School and Dakota Wesleyan Unviersity coaches speak about their teams.

Wesleyan women ranked 24th in new NAIA poll

For the first time since the 2003-2004 season, the Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team has entered the NAIA coaches poll.

DWU (14-4) is ranked 24th in this week’s poll. The Tigers are currently on a six-game win streak and have won eight of their last 10 games.

McKenzie Weidenbach, a 5-foot-8 senior guard from Parkston, signed with the Tigers. Weidenbach, who averages nine points, three rebounds and two assists per game, is the daughter of DWU men’s assistant basketball coach Tim Weidenbach.

Northern Sun to hold basketball tourneys in Sioux Falls in 2014

SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will hold its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments at a new Sioux Falls complex beginning in 2014.

Commissioner Butch Raymond on Tuesday announced a three-year agreement to move the NSIC/Sanford Health Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments to the Pentagon by Sanford Health.
