Dave Skolberg of Mitchell “blocks” at the end of a pass Saturday afternoon during the Mount Vernon pheasant hunt fundraiser at the Rosewood Barn hunting lodge north of Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon Legion member John Fraser said about 19 hunters participated in the guided hunt, which was followed by a Rocky Mountain oyster and chislic feed at the American Legion in Mount Vernon. Event planners were not sure by press time how much money was raised during the event, but the funds will go to support Mount Vernon Legion baseball. (Candy DenOuden/Republic)
