Pierre teen charged in shooting to appear in court

PIERRE (AP) — A 16-year-old Pierre boy charged in the fatal shooting of a classmate is scheduled to be arraigned in court Friday.

PIERRE (AP) — A 16-year-old Pierre boy charged in the fatal shooting of a classmate is scheduled to be arraigned in court Friday.

Braiden K. McCahren was indicted by a Hughes County grand jury on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

McCahren is accused in the Dec. 18 fatal shooting of 16-year-old Dalton Williams. McCahren also is accused of pointing a gun at a third 16-year-old boy who also was in the house at the time of the shooting.

The media reports that McCahren is scheduled to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Friday before Circuit Judge John Brown.

McCahren is being held in jail without bond.
