DWU men fall to California Baptist 85-70

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Saturday, the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team wrapped up its West Coast trip with an 85-70 loss to California Baptist, an NCAA Division II opponent.

Friday, DWU opened its trip with a win over San Diego Christian.

Saturday, DWU’s Jalen Voss recorded another double-double, finishing with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Aireus Stephenson led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points. Dakota Wesleyan shot 40.7 percent from the field and was outrebounded by the Lancers 39-27.

California Baptist guard Anthony Consentino led all scorers with a game-high 19 points.

Three other players scored in double figures for the Lancers, headlined by Kevin Crabb, who scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Kyle Wong added 14 points and tallied five assists for California Baptist.

Dakota Wesleyan (8-8) is back in action when it plays at Midland in a Great Plains Athletic Conference game Wednesday in Fremont, Neb. DWU is 3-4 in league play this season.
