An officer found tracks circling one vehicle and followed the footprints to several other vehicles. The trail ended when a 16-year-old boy was found rummaging through a vehicle.

RAPID CITY (AP) — Rapid City police say new footprints in fresh snow helped officers catch a teen car burglar early Christmas morning.

The media reports that an officer on the call found tracks circling one vehicle and followed the footprints to several other vehicles. The trail ended when a 16-year-old boy was found rummaging through a vehicle.

Police say the teen had several items in his possession that were believed to be stolen. He was arrested for car burglary and underage alcohol consumption.
