National Forest advisory board meeting, Jan. 2

CUSTER — The January 2013 meeting of the Black Hills National Forest Advisory Board is scheduled for Jan. 2 at the Forest Service Mystic Ranger District Office, 8221 S. Highway 16, Rapid City, S.D., 57702. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. and end no later than 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

CUSTER — The January 2013 meeting of the Black Hills National Forest Advisory Board is scheduled for Jan. 2 at the Forest Service Mystic Ranger District Office, 8221 S. Highway 16, Rapid City, S.D., 57702. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. and end no later than 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

The Black Hills National Forest Advisory Board was established, consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act of 1972, to provide advice and recommendations to the Black Hills National Forest on a broad range of forest issues such as forest health, travel management, forest monitoring and evaluation, forest plan revisions or amendments, recreation fees, and site-specific projects having forest-wide implications.

Topics on the agenda for the Jan. 2 meeting include an update of the Record of Decision for the Mountain Pine Beetle Response Project, and review of travel management plan goals and implementation for the purpose of planning fee schedules and programs for the year 2014. The meeting agenda will be posted no later than Dec. 26, to the Black Hills National Forest website at http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/blackhills/workingtogether/advisorycommittees
