Delores “ Dori ” M. Hanson, 89, Mesa, Ariz., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Mesa.

Delores “ Dori ” M. Hanson, 89, Mesa, Ariz., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Mesa.

She was born on May 5, 1923.

Memorial services will be at a later date at St. George Catholic Church, Apache Junction, Ariz., Funeral services will be next spring at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Heron Lake, Minn. Burial will be in Heron Lake Catholic Cemetery.

Delores Wermers was born near Ethan, to Anthony and Margaret ( Muntefering) Wermers .

She married Robert Hanson on Feb. 21, 1944, in Heron Lake, Minn.

They had one son, Bobby Jo. They lived in Heron Lake most of the time as they had an electrical and plumbing business from 1949 to 1972 in Storden and Heron Lake.

After selling their business they started traveling spending their winter months in Texas for six winters and then in Arizona. After her husband passed away in 2005 she made her home in Apache Junction, Ariz.

During their marriage they had jobs at these locations and came back to Sioux Falls in the summers starting in 1974 and worked at Spaders RV and KOA Campground.

She spent many hours as a volunteer at various institutions both in Arizona and South Dakota.

She is survived by one sister, Loretta Cain, Parkston; three brothers: Alvin Wermers and wife Jeanette, Mitchell; Donald Wermers and wife Verla, Madison, Wis.; and Robert Wermers and wife Marlene, Sioux Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and son; her parents; two brothers: Alfred; and Norbert and wife Donna ( Youngstrom) Wermers ; a brother-in-law, Arthur Cain.
