She was born Sept. 22, 1927.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at the New Holland Christian Reformed Church.
Burial will follow at the New Holland Cemetery.

Martha (Veurink) Dykshorn was born to Gerrit H. and Elizabeth (Vander Tuin) Veurink on the family farm near New Holland. She attended Tiemen’s Country School in Douglas County through the eighth grade. She then worked at various family homes helping care for new mothers, their families and new babies.
On Feb. 11, 1948, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Dykshorn on her parent’s farm near New Holland. Together they farmed southwest of Joubert, until Bill passed away on Jan. 2, 2005. She remained in the farm home until 2009, when she entered Leisure Living in Corsica. She became a resident of Corsica Good Samaritan Nursing Home in April 2012, and remained there until the time of her death.
Martha was a faithful and lifelong member of the New Holland Christian Reformed Church. She was an active member of the Priscilla Ladies Aid, the Gideon Auxiliary, New Holland Christian Elementary Society and Dakota Christian High School Society.
Martha looked forward to visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and never let them leave without a piece of candy … or two.
Grateful for having shared in Martha’s life: her four children: Sharon Jones and husband, Ron, of Emery; Patty Ligtenberg and husband, Fred, of Corsica; Percy and wife, Carol, of Platte; Loren of Sioux Falls and fiancé, Laura Zomer; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Marion (Anna Mae) Veurink of New Holland; Edwin (Mavis) Veurink of Platte; and LeRoy (Elaine) Veurink of Platte; one sister, Harriet Meyerink of Platte; along with several nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by: her husband, Bill; daughter-in-law, Lynn Dykshorn; brothers: John and Gradus; sister, Jennie (Veurink) Ringling; a brother and sister in infancy; her parents and parents-in-law; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
