Lakota Nation Invitational starts Wednesday

The 36th annual tournament kicks off Wednesday and runs through Saturday in Rapid City.

RAPID CITY (AP) — High school basketball players from predominantly Native American schools are descending on South Dakota's Black Hills for the Lakota Nation Invitational basketball tournament.

The 36th annual tournament kicks off Wednesday and runs through Saturday in Rapid City.

In addition to basketball, the event includes wrestling, archery and cheerleading competitions. A Lakota Language Bowl, knowledge bowl and an art show are also offered.
