Voss records double-double in DWU's 85-71 win over Coyotes

SALINA, Kan. — Dakota Wesleyan center Jalen Voss dominated the paint.

The sophomore recorded his 10th double-double of the season after scoring a team-high 21 points and grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds to help lead the Tigers to an 85-71 victory over Kansas Wesleyan Monday.

“I thought Jalen did a good job of working on the inside,” DWU head coach Shane Murphy said. “I think he did a great job crashing the offensive board and being effective clogging up the middle.”

The Tigers outrebounded the Coyotes 48-29 and were led by Voss and Luke Bamberg, who grabbed 11 boards.

“I think our size was the difference in the game,” Murphy said. “I think we took advantage inside by getting our bigs involved and rebounding.”

Three other DWU players reached double figures. Danny Maman scored 15 points, Aireus Stephenson chipped in with 12 and Mike Lee added 10.

“I thought a lot of guys contributed, and I was really pleased with how we played and getting the win on the road,” Murphy said.

Kansas Wesleyan was led by guard Canon Fields, who finished with 23 points and eight rebounds.
