Death in Sturgis not believed to be suspicious

Residents in the area say two youths found the body near mid-day Sunday.

STURGIS (AP) — Sturgis police say the death of a man whose body was found in Bear Butte Creek over the weekend does not appear suspicious.

Residents in the area say two youths found the body near mid-day Sunday. Police Chief Jim Bush says it doesn't appear the body had been in the water for long.

Bush tells the media that police think they know the man's identity and are working to notify next of kin.
