Joyce Arlene Miller-Glatt, 84, Rapid City, formerly of Plankinton, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Fountain Springs Health Care, Rapid City.

Joyce Arlene Miller-Glatt, 84, Rapid City, formerly of Plankinton, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Fountain Springs Health Care, Rapid City.

She was born on April 28, 1928.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Plankinton, with the Rev. Jeff Lathrop officiating. Burial will be in Mizpah Cemetery, Plankinton.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at the church.

Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home, Rapid City, is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born to Warren and Etta (Smith) West.

She grew up and attended Stoddard Country School and graduated from Plankinton High School in 1946.

She married Marion Miller on Sept. 14, 1946, and enjoyed farming until 1976, when they sold the farm and moved to Rapid City.

She sold real estate for many years and then enjoyed time as a hostess at the Black Forest Inn.

Marion died in September 1994.

She then married Al Glatt in January 1996.

Joyce is survived by her daughters: Linda (Denny) Pierson, Sioux Falls; LeAnne (Darrell) Hohn, Deadwood; her grandchildren: John (Jamie) Hohn, Deadwood; Paul (Teisha) Hohn, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Kris Stewart, Sioux Falls; Jared (Jill) Hohn, Custer; Angela (Pete) Avila, Rapid City; Emily Hohn, Mitchell; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands: Marion Miller and Al Glatt; her parents, three sisters: Ethel Hildebrand, Hazel Hayes and Ila Edinger; and one brother, Melvin West.
