MCHS boys beat Iroquois in season opener

IROQUOIS — The Mitchell Christian boys’ basketball team is undefeated.

The Eagles (1-0) won their season opener Friday night on the road against Iroquois.

Mitchell Christian received a stand-out performance from senior forward Adam Rasmussen, who recorded a double-double, tallying 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Aaron Lemon was close to a double-double on the night but fell shy of the mark. He finished the game with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Guard Jackson Feiner added 16 points, while forward Wes VanderPol chipped in with 11.

Iroquois was led by center Erik Wehlander, who also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Mitchell Christian takes on Kimball/White Lake at 8 p.m. Thursday in Mitchell.
