Four Dakota Wesleyan soccer players earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete status for this season.
The award is given to student-athletes who maintain a 3.5 GPA and have achieved junior academic status.
Trent Robbins was honored on the men’s team, while Linsey Peterson, Alex Kuehler and Lindsey Corrin were honored from the women’s team.
MHS volleyball players awarded

The Mitchell High School volleyball team hosted its end-of-the-season banquet Thursday.
Senior Megan Farnham and junior Taylin Alm were named co-Most Valuable Players. The most improved awards went to junior Sidney Neugebauer and Alm.
The junior varsity MVP went to Rachel Bucholz and most improved was received by Kennedy Ischen.
Farnham, senior Kerri Young, senior Kendra Morgan and senior Jenna Neugebauer each received the all-state academic award.

Myles scores 26, USD beats IUPUI

VERMILLION — Juevol Myles scored 26 points while pulling six rebounds and dishing out six assists to lead hot shooting South Dakota to an 88-68 victory over IUPUI on Saturday night.
Myles was 9 of 14 from the field including three 3-pointers. Trevor Gruis and Brandon Bos each scored 16 points and Karim Rowson chipped in with 15 and nine rebounds.
South Dakota (4-4, 1-1 Summit) was unconscious from the field in the first half, making 17 of its first 25 attempts, shooting at a 68 percent clip. John Hart scored 29 points in the loss for IUPUI (3-6, 0-2).
USD women beat Utah Valley 72-48

VERMILLION — Nicole Seekamp scored a career-high 27 points to lead the University of South Dakota women’s basketball team to a 72-48 victory over Utah Valley University Saturday.
The win was head coach Amy Williams’ 100th win. She won 97 games at Rogers State before taking over the USD (3-5) program this year.
USD’s Polly Harrington had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win. UVU (1-7) was led by Sammie Jensen, who had 10 points.
SDSU steamrolls UNO 78-63

BROOKINGS — Jordan Dykstra scored 17 points and South Dakota State kept up its home dominance Saturday, beating Nebraska-Omaha 78-63 in its Summit League opener.
Dykstra was 7 of 11 from the floor, including three 3-pointers. Tony Fiegen added 16 points and nine rebounds, and Nate Wolters and Brayden Carlson had 13 points apiece for the Jackrabbits (6-2).
John Karhoff had 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Mavericks (2-7, 0-2), Summit League newcomers this season.
SDSU women beat Middle Tennessee

BROOKINGS — The South Dakota State women’s basketball team defeated Middle Tennessee 63-56 Saturday.
SDSU’s Megan Waytashek recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Jackrabbits (4-4) shot 44.9 percent from the field, while the Blue Raiders (4-3) shot 28.6 percent.
