SDSU women fall to Marquette in OT

BROOKINGS — The South Dakota State women’s basketball team suffered a 77-74 overtime loss to Marquette University Wednesday at Frost Arena in Brookings.

The Jackrabbits (3-4) trailed 32-24 but outscored the Golden Eagles (3-2) 42-34 in the second half to force extra minutes.

Ashley Eide led SDSU with 21 points and Megan Waytashek tallied 17 in the loss. The Jackrabbits shot 40.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent behind the arc.

Marquette’s Arlesia Morse led all players with 23 points on the night.

Jackrabbit men defeat UND 71-70

BROOKINGS — Nate Wolters and Jordan Dykstra each scored 21 points to help lift the South Dakota State men’s basketball team over North Dakota 71-70 Wednesday.

UND shot 51 percent from the field, while SDSU only shot 38.5 percent. The Jackrabbits outshot UND from behind the arc 8-7.

The Jackrabbits improved to 5-2 overall, while North Dakota dropped to 1-4 on the season.
