Mitchell man pleads not guilty to child sex abuse

Terace Castaway, 30, was indicted by a federal grand jury Nov. 15 for aggravated sexual abuse of children, sexual abuse, sexual abuse of a minor and abusive sexual contact of a minor.

A Mitchell man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to multiple counts of child sex abuse.

Terace Castaway, 30, was indicted by a federal grand jury Nov. 15 for aggravated sexual abuse of children, sexual abuse, sexual abuse of a minor and abusive sexual contact of a minor.

If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of 30 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison, and a potential $250,000 fine.

Castaway was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. A trial date has not yet been set.
