Gaither Vocal Band booked for April show at Mitchell Corn Palace

Multi-Grammy and Dove award-winning recording artist Bill Gaither will present his Gaither Vocal Band April 11 at the Mitchell Corn Palace.

Multi-Grammy and Dove award-winning recording artist Bill Gaither will present his Gaither Vocal Band April 11 at the Mitchell Corn Palace.

Gaither will present “an amazing celebration, filled with the very best in Christian music,” according to a news release.

Joining Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band, featuring Mark Lowry, David Phelps, Michael English and Wes Hampton, will be bass singer Gene McDonald, Gaither Homecoming favorite Charlotte Ritchie, the legendary family Gospel of the Nelons and guitarist Kevin Williams.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 7 at the Corn Palace Ticket Office, by phone at (800) 289-7469 or (605) 995-8430, or online at cornpalace.com.

Gaither and his wife Gloria have composed more than 700 songs, including “The Longer I Serve Him,” “Because He Lives,” “The King Is Coming,” “Sinner Saved By Grace,” “Something Beautiful,” “He Touched Me,” “It Is Finished,” “Jesus, There’s Something About That Name,” “I’m Gonna Sing,” and “Let’s Just Praise The Lord.” As of 2012, they composed over 700 songs.

Their tours have sold more than 1.1 million tickets across the world, and have included such notable venues as the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. Pollstar listed the tour as selling more tickets in 2004 than Elton John, Fleetwood Mac or Rod Stewart.
