MARTY — One person is dead and at least one other is injured after an apparent shooting Monday night at a home on the Yankton Sioux Reservation, a Federal Bureau of Investigation spokesman said Tuesday morning.

The investigation into the shooting is in its early stages and remains ongoing, said FBI spokesman Kyle Loven. Loven confirmed there was one fatality and at least one person injured as a result of the shooting.

U.S. Attorney's Office spokeswoman Ace Crawford said a suspect is in custody, but no charges have been filed yet and she declined to release further information.

The FBI is leading the investigation and is working with both tribal and local law enforcement, Loven said.
