A truck loaded with bales tried unsuccessfully to squeeze under the Burr Street interstate bridge Thanksgiving morning in Mitchell.
Some bales hit the bridge and fell onto the road. At about 9:30 a.m., authorities responded and began assisting with the cleanup.
The truck was southbound on Burr Street. After its load collided with the bridge, the truck was stopped on the road and its apparent occupants could be seen trying to clear what looked like corn-stalk bales off the roadway. Mitchell police and a Highway Patrol trooper were among the first authorities on the scene.
