A Mitchell man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly striking an 8-year-old boy several times with a belt, causing injury to the child.

A Mitchell man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly striking an 8-year-old boy several times with a belt, causing injury to the child.

Patrick William Sundermann, 30, is charged with abuse or cruelty to a minor as a result of the alleged incident.

He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
