Only hours after a man took his own life Nov. 1 at a trailer home in eastern Mitchell, police uncovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms and ammunition inside the trailer and nearby vehicles.

According to court documents filed Nov. 6, investigators conducted a search at 1:39 p.m. Nov. 1 at 1105 E. First Ave., No. 1, nearly six hours after 26-year-old T.J. Stuckey, of Mitchell, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the residence after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend there.

Court documents identify Stuckey’s girlfriend as 21-year-old Jayde Hein, of Mitchell.

Inside the trailer, police found a plastic bag containing marijuana, several more plastic bags containing trace amounts of marijuana or marijuana residue, six smoking devices and other drug paraphernalia, court documents say. Police found a glass jar of marijuana under a bush in front of the residence.

In the south bedroom of the trailer, police found the shotgun Stuckey had turned on himself.

In two vehicles that court document say were registered to Stuckey, a 1992 Ford F-150 and a 1990 Honda Civic, police found a .22 caliber rifle, various types of ammunition and a broken marijuana pipe.

Hein told police Stuckey had been living with her at the trailer home for about the past month, the court documents say. It does not appear that Hein has been charged with any crime.
