USD tops NC Central 81-69
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Tyler Flack had 21 points and eight rebounds to help South Dakota to its first win of the season with an 81-69 victory over North Carolina Central on Friday afternoon in Wyoming’s Global Hoops Sports Showcase.
Karim Rowson and Juevol Myles each added 13 points for the Coyotes (1-2), who trailed 35-30 at the half. Jay Copeland finished with 18 points for the Eagles (2-3).
Hofstra beats SDSU men 66-63
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Shaquille Stokes hit a game-winning 3-pointer with nine seconds left to give Hofstra a 66-63 victory over South Dakota State on Friday night in the 2K Sports Classic.
Nate Wolters led South Dakota State (1-2) with a strong first half. Wolters hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left until halftime to give the Jackrabbits a 32-31 halftime lead. Wolters finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
