A Mitchell man was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in prison for violating his probation for a domestic assault conviction.

James Paul Normile, 21, appeared Oct. 2 in Davison County court and admitted to violating his probation by having contact with the victim of his domestic abuse and failed to maintain employment.

In May, Normile was sentenced May 31 to 18 months on probation for his third domestic assault against one victim in five months.

Judge Rodney Steele reinstated that 18-month prison sentence for Normile’s probation violations.

Normile was given credit for 58 days served.
