TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 2

This is the epic finale that will live forever. The popular saga comes to an end as this final installment of the Twilight Saga franchise reveals the secrets and mysteries and ties up the storylines of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions. “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2” will have a special advance showing at 10 p.m. today. It opens nationally Friday. 116 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence including disturbing images, some sensuality and partial nudity.

FLIGHT

Denzel Washington teams with Robert Zemeckis, the Academy Award winning director of “Forrest Gump” and “Cast Away” for this provocative action/thriller/drama.

Washington stars as Whip Whitaker, a seasoned airline pilot who miraculously crash-lands his plane after a mid-air catastrophe, saving nearly every soul on board. After the crash, he is hailed as a hero, but as more is learned, more questions than answers arise as to who or what was really at fault, and what really happened on that plane?

The strong supporting cast includes John Goodman, Don Cheadle and Melissa Leo.

“Flight” starts Friday and is scheduled through Nov. 29. 139 minutes. It is rated R for drug and alcohol abuse, language, sexuality/nudity and an intense action sequence.

SKYFALL

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in “Skyfall,” the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time.

Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe and Albert Finney also star in the action drama.

“Skyfall” is held over. 143 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for intense violent sequences throughout, some sexuality, language and smoking.

WRECK-IT RALPH

Walt Disney Animation Studios take moviegoers on a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in this animated family comedy.

Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer, “30 Rock”), the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades of doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.

“Wreck–It Ralph” is held over through Nov. 20. 108 minutes. It is presented in 3D and 2D at alternating showtimes. It is rated PG for some rude humor and mild action/violence.

PITCH PERFECT

This new comedy/drama centers on the hilarious, challenging exploits of a college a cappella girls’ singing group. Anna Kendrick plays a girl at college who finds that she isn’t right for any group of friends until she finds herself muscled into one group she thought she would never want. This group of mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls shares one thing in common — how good they sound when they sing together. She takes this acoustic singing group out of its world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all new mash ups. They compete in the cutthroat world of college a cappella.

“Pitch Perfect” is held over through Nov. 20. 112 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for sexual material, language and drug references.

ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT

This animated comedy features Sid, Scrat, Manny and all the Ice Age gang in hilarious new adventures.

Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he’s been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences — a continental cataclysm that triggers the gang’s greatest adventure. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.

“Ice Age: Continental Drift” is showing Saturday and Sunday afternoons as this week’s movie on the AAUW Children’s Matinee Series. 94 minutes. It is rated PG for mild rude humor and action/peril.
