A 37-year-old Mitchell man arrested for multiple counts of illegal sexual contact in 1995 appeared in Davison County Court Tuesday and asked a judge to remove him from the state’s sex offender registry.
Casey Fredrick Weins was arrested Sept. 29, 1995, for multiple counts of illegal sexual contact with a child under the age of 16. He was 20 years old at the time.
Weins was convicted of the charges and has since been required to register as a sex offender.
Today, Weins is married with two step-sons and works as a day-shift supervisor at Graphic Packaging in Mitchell. Weins, his sister-in-law Sarah Weins, and his supervisor at Graphic Packaging, Jeff Jolliff, all testified in favor of Weins’ request.
Judge Rodney Steele continued Weins’ request pending the results of a psychosexual evaluation.
