A man put on probation in June after escaping from a Mitchell police car was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison for violating that probation.
Roderick Rouse, 23, of Mitchell, admitted Tuesday to rules violations and leaving treatment at Stepping Stones and failing to enroll in the state 24/7 Sobriety program, both violations of his probation for a June first-degree escape conviction.
In May, Rouse was arrested after escaping from the back seat of a police car by squeezing through a small unlocked plastic window separating the front and back seats of the patrol vehicle.
Rouse eluded law enforcement for about an hour before being taken into custody again.
Rouse was given credit for 82 days served and remanded to the custody of the Davison County Sheriff’s Office.
