Mitchell streetscape meeting set

Mitchell Main Street & Beyond will hold the first public input session for a downtown streetscape plan in conjunction with designArc Architecture + Design LLC at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the lower level of the Midtown Mall, located at 400 N. Main St.

This session will include reviewing the scope of the streetscape project and gathering input from various downtown user groups. Public comments are welcome.

MMS&B announced the hire of the Brookings-based team in July to provide a streetscape and landscape plan for Mitchell’s Main Street with the goal of creating a strategic plan that will transform downtown into an inviting and user-friendly environment.

The team for the Mitchell streetscape planning process is entirely comprised of representatives from South Dakota, including designArc of Brookings, James Valley Nursery of Mitchell, AcV2 of Rapid City, Civil Design Inc. of Brookings, and Roby Quintal Everson Engineers of Mitchell.
