The media reports that 49-year-old Thomas Dean Lays Hard was carrying 31 half-pint bottles of vodka, three boxes of 40-ounce bottles of malt liquor and a liter of vodka in his car when a tribal police officer stopped him in May.
It is illegal to sell or possess alcohol on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Lays Hard faces up to one year in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced in January.
