She was born on Dec. 24, 1919.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Armour Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Armour.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church with a 7 p.m. wake service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Koehn Brothers Funeral Home, Armour.
Henrietta Margaret Ronspies was born to Joseph and Gertrude (Mengerhauser) Bigge on the family farm near Armour.
She attended Houston Country School in Douglas County.
She worked for various farm wives and Gau’s Café in Mitchell.
She married Leo Ronspies on April 7, 1945, in Birmingham, Ala.
Together, they farmed in Nebraska for two years and moved to their farm near Armour in 1949, retiring in 1973.
Leo died in March 1994.
Margaret volunteered at the senior center and for the Green Thumb program. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Altar Society and VFW and American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, bingo and caring for her grandchildren.
She suffered a stroke in November 2010 and entered Golden Living Center in December 2010.
She is survived by six children: Elaine (Richard) Hawley, Harrisburg; Barb (Vic) Wieczorek, Mount Vernon; James Ronspies and friend Linda Hines, Armour; Theresa (Nick T.) Van Dam, Remsen, Iowa; Colleen (Mark) Mosterd, Platte; and Carman (Jeff) Lewis, St. Libory, Neb.; daughter-in-law, Kay Ronspies, Hawarden, Iowa; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, brother, Billy Bigge, Reliance; sister, Catherine Grosz, Armour; two sistersin-law: Crystal Ronspies, Osmond, Neb.; and Theresa Bigge, Sioux Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Paul; two grandsons, four brothers and five sisters.
