The loss is the second straight for the Tigers, who wrap up their season at 1 p.m. Saturday in a game against Midland University at Joe Quintal Field in Mitchell.
DWU (5-4, 4-4 GPAC) was shut out for the first time this season.
The Prairie Wolves (5-4, 4-4 GPAC)got two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Dustin Bryant scored on a 31-yard run with 3:05 to play and Jordan Delbaugh added a 25-yard TD with 1:23 left in the game.
Nebraska Wesleyan held the Tigers to eight rushing yards on 18 attempts. DWU’s Josh Endres, who’s second in school history in career rushing yards, had 12 carries for 17 yards. His longest rush of the day was four yards.
Tigers quarterback Jon Bane completed 28 of 54 passes for 248 yards and had an interception.
Dakota Wesleyan held NWU to 230 yards of total offense, 117 rushing yards and 113 passing.
Arthur Brown caught nine passes for 87 yards for the Tigers and Dimitri Fahey added seven catches for 57 yards.
DWU football coach Ross Cimpl could not be reached for comment regarding Saturday’s game.
